Treo 700w officially announced at CES
As some of you may have heard, the Treo 700w was officially annouced at CES 2006. Verizon announced it will be launching the phone under the name “Treo 700w”. It will be running Windows Mobile 5 and has the following specs:
- EV-DO high-speed data
- Windows Mobile 5.0
- Intel XScale CPU
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- Bluetooth
- 240240 screen

It will be selling for $399 after a $100 mail-in-rebate on a 2 year contract. It is going to be interesting how this will stack up against many other smart/business phones. I’ve just picked up a Qtek 9100 aka HTC Wizard (Which I will be doing a review on soon, stay tuned) and want to see how this will stack up. The XScale CPU will most likely top the Wizards processor even though it is dual core. The EV-DO will be a great addition thought the 240×240 seems a bit lacking to me. I think the better deal is the PPC-6700 (Basically Sprint’s HTC Wizard) which has all this, plus WiFi, similar Qtek 9100 slide-out keyboard, 412Mhz CPU and the 320×240 screen. We shale see.
