New Upgrade: 20Mbit Wanadoo ADSL
This morning we had a very pleasant upgrade in the workspace: 20Mbit Wanadoo ADSL. A very welcome step up from the old 1Mbit Tiscali setup. It is, in a word, FAST, but of course. I even got the nice, frosty white Wanadoo Box with the glowing “W”, it is quite slick.
The service advertises 20Mbit/s download and 1Mbit/s upload speeds. I havn’t had too much time, but I have been able to run a few speed tests. The results a pretty good, not 20Mbit’s as advertised of course but still a good improvement. In the local area of Holland and Europe I was able to get around 1500k/s – 2000k/s (Around 8-13Mbit/s) down and 80k/s – 150k/s (Around 1Mbit/s) upload.
Downloads/Uploads take a little hit when going across the “Big Pond” they call the Atlantic. I got around 700k/s – 1200k/s (Around 6Mbit/s) down and 60k/s – 120k/s up to the Eastcoast and slightly less to the westcoast. Since my servers sit on the east coast at NAC, I’m quite happy with 6Mbit’s to New Jersey. Now I just have to get some local Dutch servers (Which are on the way)
Soon we’ll be rocking 50-100Mbit/s like Korean. One day it will be mine, oh yes, one day it will be mine.

Can’t get Firefox to work since we changed to Wanadoo ADSL. Any thoughts?
