RIM reveals a workaround for the Blackberry

In order to continue US operation of blackberry devices and servers, RIM has developed a “workaround” software contingency plan. It is a user-installed software update for the devices and backend servers which will show no difference in the way the devices operate in the current day nor will it affect any of the programs written for the device.
“RIM recently announced details of a software update (named BlackBerry Multi-Mode Edition™) that has been designed and tested as a contingency to allow RIM partners and customers to continue to use the BlackBerry service should the court implement an injunction in the current litigation involving the NTP patents.”
You can find more information about this workaround from RIM themselves here: http://www.blackberry.com/workaround

The Dutch, 4 year olds and Cappuccino’s

So there is a cafe I frequent here in Rotterdam when I have some work to do, want to just relax or grab a bit to eat. I go in the other day (around 10am) and a man and his little son (no more than four years old) come in and sit across the table from me (They have a huge table which seats 12-15 that gets randomly frequented for a beverage and casual magazine read). They come to take his order, he orders a Cappuccino and to my surprise, so does his 4 year old! So the father gets a big cup and the child gets a very small one. After the child finishes his drink, he orders ANOTHER ONE. Stupendous. The best part about it, this must have been the third time in a month I’ve seen the same thing as the same cafe with 3 different children and parents, not to forget of course the child is running around ultra-caffinated and drugged up the rest of their stay in the cafe.
Fun times, I guess the Dutch really start their kids of young huh?
