Qtek 9100 performance update #2

A small update to my last post on upgrading my Qtek 9100 Pocket PC Phone with a new ROM flash. I’ve successfully flashed it with the following new ROM info:
ROM Version: 1.6.7.1 WWE
ROM Date: 11/28/2005
Radio Version: 01.12.10
Protocol Version: 4.0.13.23
ExtROM Version: 1.6.7.101
Impressions
The thing is FAST now, VERY fast. Its really night and day when I compare it. There is no lag and everything opens up very fast. Now alot of this is due to the hard reset required for the ROM reflash, but I’ve hard reset it before and it wasn’t this fast. Also it didn’t come out of the box this fast either. I think this new ROM does alot to help the performance and speed. Of course I won’t know for SURE if the speed stays for a few weeks of regular use, after which I’ll update again.
It was great to use before, but now its ever better! If you’re considering a Pocket PC phone I highly recommend get one of these!

MacBook Pro 15 minute Video from Macworld

As I saw on digg there is a sweet video floating around with 15 minutes of footage on the new MacBook Pro at Macworld. Just by comparing the app load times and overall app speed to my 1.33Ghz Powerbook G4 I can tell this thing is FAST. The rep is a bit clueless in the vid, but pay him no mind.

As an update to my last post in which I reviewed my Qtek 9100 Pocket PC Phone, I found some new information regarding performance and speed. Qtek is releasing a new ROM revision with new Qtek’s being shipped, a ROM 2-3 months newer. People who have the new ROM or have upgraded their current say the speed difference is night and day and there is hardly any lag. You can read more on this thread over at Howard Forums:
