Less sugar, more chew…
Things have been progressing well with Macrobiotics. I have gotten into a very nice routine and have been following it quite regularly. I wake up early, around 6-6:30am. I then do some stretching and breathing before taking a quick warm up run. It really gets my energy going, gets things flowing in the body before breakfast.
It also allows me to focus more, I find myself a whole lot more centered in the early morning to do work. I still think I am over eating though, I will have to try and resolve that habit. A funny thing I have noticed though is in regards to the whole chewing issue. You are supposed to chew atleast 50 times a mouthful right? If you pay attention, you’ll find it quite hard to go past 10 with any “normal” food or food with a strong taste. It seems to just automatically want to be swollowed. Its really interesting because if you then compare it to most Macrobiotic foods with less extreme tastes, you can chew a whole lot more as it seems the taste buds aren’t overloaded in your mouth. I guess that could be considered a good side effect of eating what most people would call “Bland food” hah.
Other than that I can definitly feel the shift in my body, it has been almost 2 months now. If I take the whole “Your food becomes your blood, becomes your cells, becomes your organs, becomes your body” theory and reflect back I can see the shift in my physical body quite clearly, its really cool. I think it brings a whole new awareness to the healing process, atleast for me. I have a greater understanding of whats going on inside. With that knowledge it allows me to move forward and set new goals, so I guess it all works out.
