As announced yesterday, Apple has come out with some great updates and whats even more interesting new industry deals for digital video and software.
New Ipod
It is true: A video Ipod. 30Gb and 60Gb versions in the sleek “nano” black & white themes and is 30% slimmer than the previous ipod. This replaces the old ipod line so now the entire ipod line is streamlined. You have the shuffle, the nano then the ipod which now does photos and videos.
“Time for the world’s best music player to take the stage for another encore. In 30GB and 60GB(1) models that hold up to 15,000(2) songs, full-color album art and up to 25,000 photos(3), the new iPod makes the most of your music and more. Yeah, you’ve heard that tune before. Only now, you can watch it, too. With support for up to 150 hours(4) of video and a 2.5-inch color display, the new iPod lets you take music videos and TV shows on the road.”
New Imac
The new Imac has CPU upgrades, video card upgrades, built-in Isight, new frontrow media center like software to easily access all your digital content from one are (Music, Photos, Video) and a new remote to control frontrow. Its a slimmer version and also comes with a mighty mouse.
“What if you could command an entire world of music, photos, movies and DVDs — all from your sofa? Now you can share the good life with friends and family on a 17- or 20-inch new iMac G5 featuring Front Row software and Apple Remote. Slimmer than ever, the gravity-defying enclosure also houses built-in iSight, SuperDrive, wireless and the easy-to-use software that brings it all together. Modern living starts at only $1299. (Mighty Mouse not sold separately.)”
Wow…take that music industry
So, as many may know the music industry has been whining and complaining and pressuring apple to raise its itunes music store download costs but Steve Jobs has not budged one bit. Now the video ipod is out and they have upgrade the itunes music store to include music videos, TV shows and movies.
Now this is the best part…
Songs go for $0.99cents a song, music videos and TV shows go for $1.99 each!!! Steve Jobs knows the guys are Disney who of course own ABC who have the #1 and #2 shows on the planet at the moment. It is going to be very hard to justify raising prices for $0.99 cent songs when people can get full music videos and TV shows for $0.99 cents more.
