Increasing productivity and achieving your goals

The more and more I think about it, after implementing certain techniques and methods that have worked for me I’ve seen a enormous increase in the success and completion of my goals; personal and business.
I ran across this very interesting study on goal setting sponsored by the Ford Foundation that showed:
- 23% of the population has no idea what they want from life and as a result don’t have much.
- 67% of the population has a general idea of what they want but they don’t have any plans for how to get it.
- Only 10% of the population has specific, well-defined goals, but even then, 7 out of 10 of those people reach their goals only half of the time.
- The top 3%*, however, achieved their goals *89% of the time. That’s an *.890* batting average. What any baseball player wouldn’t give to hit that well!
The researchers wanted to know what accounted for the dramatic difference between that top 3 percent and the others. They found that of all the possible variables, the only difference between the top performers and the rest was the the top 3% wrote down their goals.
Funny how that works huh? Focused intention at its finest example. Goals are just destiny with a deadline right? I’ve been writing down my goals and concentration on what I need to do to make those goals happen long before I read this and I can attest it is quite true.
Reflecting back I see goal after goal achieved. Not just small ones, HUGE ONES. Huge goals everyone around me said I was crazy to even contemplate, that wouldn’t happen, that aren’t realistic. Even people whom were directly involved in those goals had pessimistic outlooks. But it just goes to show, where there is a will there is a way. Life is what you make it and if you utilize the tools you have, the tools everyone have, efficiently…anything is possible.

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties, and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”

“When you have knowledge, you have freedom; you have options. When you have knowledge you can build kingdoms unlimited. When you have knowledge, there is nothing to fear; for then there is no thing, no element, no principality, no understanding that can ever threaten or enslave or intimidate you. When fear is given knowledge, it is called “enlightenment”.”
